Intro to Creating TV Characters - The Groundlings Theatre & School (online)

Vivid characters are the fundamental building blocks of comedy. Groundlings alums and writer/producers Wendy Goldman (Faking It, Ten Things I Hate about You) and Robin Schiff (Sideswiped, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion) lead you through the basics of creating juicy characters to bring your TV show idea to life, and have fun in the process! Even if you have the spark of an idea, that’s a perfect place to start. Beginners welcome!

Improv can inform the way you write, how you develop characters and it can help you find your voice as a writer.  

Wendy Goldman is a film and television writer/producer. Most recently she was an Executive Producer of the critically acclaimed MTV series, FAKING IT. She performed in the main company of the famed Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:
A notebook with plenty of paper and a good pen. No laptops or iPads, please. There is no performing involved.
